Caravan Insurance

Buying a caravan can be a significant financial investment and selecting the right insurance will help you to protect that investment. Insurance for your touring caravan or static caravan requires a different type of insurance policy to cover different risks. The two major types of caravan insurance are touring caravan insurance and static caravan insurance.

Touring Caravan Insurance

Touring caravan insurance is designed for touring caravans that are towed behind a vehicle travelling to camping and caravanning sites throughout the UK and Europe.

Touring caravan insurance caters for risks whilst driving including collisions with vehicles and accidents caused by side winds or incorrect loading and also includes cover for legally required third party liability insurance.

Touring caravan insurance also caters for theft of the touring caravan and/or its contents which is an increasingly common problem and insurers will often offer cheaper touring caravan insurance quotes where additional security precautions are in place e.g. wheel locks.

Static Caravan Insurance

Static caravan insurance is intended for a static caravan on a semi-permanent pitch on a caravan site typically serviced with electricity, water and sewers.

A static caravan is more prone to risks from nature including flooding of the camp site, high winds and falling trees although surprisingly it is not uncommon for a static caravan to be stolen.

Static caravan insurance caters for the caravan itself as well as its contents and insurance quotes will vary according to the value of the static caravan and/or its contents, the location of the static caravan and the security precautions taken for the caravan.
